Something to be aware of for those in the area and anyone planning to visit the RAF's premier fighter station during the Summer:
This is a new scheme being set up at RAF Northolt, which has been
designed to recognise the valuable role Aviation Enthusiasts can play in
helping to combat terrorism and crime, as additional eyes and ears of
our station community.
We would particularly welcome applications from Aviation Enthusiasts who
are regular visitors to the RAF Northolt area, as they are more likely
to notice something or someone out of the ordinary on or around the
airfield. However, all enthusiasts who use the area are welcome to apply.
As a valued member of our scheme there will be opportunities for you to
be invited onto RAF Northolt for special events, such as station open
days and charity photoshoots. Members of the scheme will be provided
with an identity card, a lanyard and card holder similar to that of
airport workers, which we would ask you to wear whilst you are engaged
in your hobby at RAF Northolt. The aim of this scheme is to allow you
to be easily identified by the RAF Police and other security personnel
in the RAF Northolt area as a potential and valuable source of
information. The issued identity card will not provide you any access
rights to the station.
In order to show our commitment to the scheme, we are pleased to inform
you that membership into the RAF Northolt Flight Watch Scheme is
completely free.
