F86A G-SABR.

Postby james908 on Tue 03 Jul 2012, 10:44 pm

Hi all.

Whilst at Flying Legends last Saturday I couldn't help notice that the Golden Apple F86A Sabre was in bits in one of the hangers.
Does anyone know if this is an indication that this aircraft has been sold as it has been up for sale for a while now or it had a fairly major problem but it would be much appreciated if someone could enlighten me on the situation currently with the aircraft.

Many thanks and regards,
James.

I read somewhere about a month ago, that it was awaiting a new engine from the US.

Has it been sold or have they taken it off completely

Thanks for the post James I was going to do the same thing but never got round to it though I did guess the engine must be away for repairs guess it won't be at Farnborough now then, I also notice she is down for Malta that be some trip but worth it of course.

She was supposed to come to Norway in June, but this trip was cancelled due to "a major engine snag", so I guess they are still working on this.

Okay, thanks very much I initially thought that it was engine problems but then remembered that it was also up for sale and the way that it looked last weekend I don't think it will be at Farnborough.

I think that they are probably trying to get it airworthy for the american air day at Duxford in August.
