European* Airshow Tour

European* Airshow Tour

Postby DonBonzo on Thu 26 Jul 2012, 7:41 am

So here's the deal. I'm thinking of buying a motorhome for the 2014 or 2015 airshow season. The intention would be to start in May (or whenever) and travel around Europe, or perhaps a little further if access/political stability allows, until October. A minimum of one airshow per week, each preferably in a different country.

There'll be certain shows that will be a 'must see', such as Maks, and that Austrian one with the superb backdrop (Zeltweg?).

Question is, what else should I endeavour to fit in......I'm not after the biggest or the best every time, but variety of attendee and interesting locations would be the plus points. To give an example, RIAT (bias towards fast military) and something like the Shuttleworth open evenings (unique aircraft, light for photography) , or Windermere (backdrop) show would be my ideal 'style' of show in the UK, Sunderland and the like - not so much.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

If you do it in 2014 then the Swiss Air Force 100th Anniversary shows at Payerne could be good. Two airshows over consecutive weekends!

But Zeltweg will not be hold in 2014 (bi-annual).
A weather forecast is a forecast and just that
