Nigel doesn't just provide a Yak52 aerobatic display, but - with the help of his able assistant and jump co-ordinator Debs - a renowned parachute team, the Ted Devils.

yakdisplay.com is the only display on the circuit worldwide that offers this unique item. We were the first - others have tried to copy!

Unfortunately at Elmsett08, one of the team suffered a chute failure:

The emergency services were instantly on the scene to treat him:

Nigel reported on the subsequent enquiry:
Injury Update:
Ted has made a full recovery. His rate of descent was slowed by fur interference boundary layer effect.
Had ted been wearing his usual lycra body suite (which he was banned from wearing due to decency rules since small children were present), then the outcome may have been very different. Although unconscious for a small time period, recovery was almost instant with the threat of mouth to mouth resuscitation from the fire crew (who is also a paramedic by the way). After a full canopy failure investigation, Ted is now contemplating suing his parachute manufacturer which had a major design flaw. It appears the “for static display only” label had been removed by scissors prior to fitting.
Nigel.
The first chance to see the 'package' this year will be at Abingdon.
Nigel:
I’ve got 2 slots – first up for Ted Devils just before the main display (should keep the youngsters amused!) and then an aeros slot in the display programme. Debs doing commentary as usual – and we’re working on a tighter knit display/commentary double act this year!
Nigel is also supporting the 'Bear Faced Cheek 2010' charity calendar.

A number of aviator's 'cheeks' will be appearing in the calendar, including one of the Guinot team:

.......................
Yes, Martyn Carrington
and a number of other males
will be 'bearing' all!
Good luck to Nigel and Debs for 2009, and especially the Ted Devils.
