Dominie coming to Newark Air Museum
Details of this exciting new acquisition were announced to the members at the museum’s AGM earlier today and more details can be found in here!
The airframe is expected to arrive from its current location in Suffolk sometime in September.

Good news - now how about the 2 Phantoms at Leuchars?

That's great news, Howard.
Does anyone know if the four Dominies are still vegetating at Kemble before their "promised" flights to the USA?
If no-one else wants it then I'll take XS731 for the back garden !

Re: Dominie coming to Newark Air Museum
Not sure about the T7 Brian, but some Night Shoot options are being discussed that are linked around this arrival and associated moves – too early to go public with these at present, but some ideas are circulating!
Thanks Big Eric; as a result of this acquisition the Kemble machines are now not of any interest to NAM!

Re: Dominie coming to Newark Air Museum
Earlier today the first in a series of co-ordinated airframe moves were completed at the museum, which is in preparation for the delivery of the Dominie and the TSR2 cockpit section (for the Tribute to the TSR2 event).
This morning the T33 and Lightning T5 airframes were moved into new display locations on the Southfield Site, next to the Meteor NF14.
In the coming days / weeks further aircraft moves will take place and this is likely to include airframes moving out of Hangar 2. This may also allow for a change in the number of stalls at the Autumn Indoor Aeroboot on Saturday 11th October.
Some photos of the aircraft in their new positions can be found in here!

Re: Dominie coming to Newark Air Museum
If the weather plays ball this week it is hoped that the engines will be fitted to the Dominie; this will be followed by the ‘panelling-up’ process to get the airframe ready to move inside Display Hangar 2.

Re: Dominie coming to Newark Air Museum
That's good news, but please be aware that there’s a degree of uncertainty as to when the Dominie will be going into Hangar 2 and indeed how much of the reassembly will be completed before that move takes place.
It is possible that once the tail has been fitted the move inside will happen, with the subsequent ‘panelling-up’ being completed undercover!

It’s good to be able to report further progress on the Dominie reassembly – the tailplane has been refitted today. A move into the ‘warmth’ of Hangar 2 beckons!

Re: Dominie coming to Newark Air Museum
Final preparations are now well in hand to get the Dominie moved into the space that has been created for the airframe in Hangar 2. Once inside the reassembly of the airframe will be completed; this includes refitting the top of the tail fin, which has not been fitted to allow for the airframe to move inside more easily.
