Ah , but Swansea's a 2-dayer , so you can do the Saturday at Yeovilton & the Sunday at sunny Swansea

This year it'll be fairly standard I think

Cosford or Welshpool - Cosford is the better airshow but Welshpool is a more pleasurable day out.
maybe Church Fenton - it's only an hour and a half away
Fairford Sunday
Farnborough Tuesday
Southport - if the weather's nice

For definite:

Zaragoza Tiger Meet - Spottersday and Open House

Yeovilton - Friday/Saturday
RIAT - Thursday-Sunday

Weather/family circumstances/participation etc. dependent:

Shuttleworth shows (most of full airshows)
Cosford
Little Gransden
Cosby
Duxford September

I'd hope to get to two or three.

Flying Legends July Sat
RIAT July Sunday

I am hoping to be fully on my feet for these, after the accident I had at Christmas, things are still very uncomfortable to say the least. But hopefully things are getting better on that though. I also if I can want to do Old Warden for again for one show.

Apologies for a slight thread drift, however......

I have no idea if you Andy have ever been to Townsville but lived just down the coast by Townsville for nearly a year, a lovely place but you'll get a challenge there for photos. It'll have to be industrial strength filters to cut down on the glare! If you are looking for a decent spot, go down towards the right hand end of the sea front as the MRH-90's and Chinooks tended to orbit there before returning to the airport.

The seaview hotel is the best place to be as its open air with a 1st floor balcony over looking most of the palm trees, but don't go to the surfboard bar as it is way way too over priced. Also keep an eye out for the "Red Baron" seaplane tour guide, as he comes into land he just about clears the roof of the surboard bar as he's landing!

Security around Townsville airport is strict. I asked for permission to photograph the Army Huey gate guardian, just inside the army side of the base and was told "no" by the squaddie. The RAAF were more than happy for me to take photos of the Neptune gate guardian they were giving some TLC too. Also if you can go to the RAAF Townsville museum there (check opening hours), next to the RAAF gate entrance, also if your thinking of getting some approach shots at the airport, find shade, as there was none at all for about a mile in any direction and in Townsville, you will need as much shade as you can find.

Hope the info helps

Hi RD,

Yes I went to the last one in 2008 with the Thunderbirds and the big dust storm.

I tried the arrivals day but gave up after an hour as heat stroke was approaching!

Didn't know about the Museum though - I'll have a look at that

Cheers

Despite living in South Wales I've never been, due to one reason or another - usually Yeovilton. I was going to take a look on the Sunday last year but visibility was so bad I didn't bother. I'm working this year (apart from a day off for Yeovilton) but hopefully some of the aircraft will be based at CWL, where I work.
