HHA based at Scampton are flying their Hunters as they come under military not civilian regulations.

Looks to be having a fairly intensive air test: likely options are a) Grounding has been lifted or b) Perhaps test flying has been allowed for this aircraft ahead of a ferry flight (hasn't this one been sold abroad?)

Possibility, it's been sold to Jordan yes.

XMHD is listed as 'de-registered' and it's CofA Permit revoked , as of 12/02/2016.
http://publicapps.caa.co.uk/modalapplication.aspx?catid=1&pagetype=65&appid=1&mode=detailnosummary&fullregmark=XMHD

Slightly off-topic....
The Canberra ( OMHD ) is still listed as being owned by Midair , as is Hunter XL600 ( RAXA )

Would explain why it is flying then!

Find that odd, maybe they will be staying then?

As per your post in the 'Midair Squadron' topic , it would appear XL600 is still earmarked for Canada.....

Wonder if the museum's holding off until it's confirmed as airworthy ?

As for the Canberra , presume it's still unsold as it didn't meet the reserve price at auction ?

They probably are, yes!

Yes it is, not sure whether they will put it up for auction again or not.

Done some rooting around and it does indeed seem to have made today's flight as a strictly Jordanian airframe, with rumours of a ferry flight scheduled at some point over the next few weeks.

Not my image, but on Flickr there are some images of the aircraft undertaking some ground work a few weeks back - note the roundel change!

Very interesting observation! Just hope the same fate doesn't befall these as with the jets which went in the late-90s (i.e. hidden away out of sight for the rest of their lives!)

It's a pretty safe assumption given that the Hunter has also had RJAF roundels shoved on without a proper repaint too... Classic Jet scene in the UK is taking a proper beating this year what with the demise of CAF and the CAA clamping down on vintage aircraft (in a pointless fashion, might I add).

What happened to the last two that went to Jordan in the mid 90's?

Please see 2 posts above yours?

If concessions are available for Hunters in UK Airspace, I can't understand why the two DHHF Hunter F6A & T8C are not transferred to the Netherlands Civil Register just to allow access to Servicing at 'St Athan' as required? I have read somewhere that they won't fly in central Europe in 2016 at all ?

They would never get registered on the Dutch civil register. There seems to be huge difficulties for historic aircraft operators - the Dutch Yak-3 group cannot even fly their aircraft in Dutch airspace!

Dutch Hunter Foundation confirmed that they won't be displaying at shows this year, they hope to fly again by the end of the year.

The people at St Athan will have to go through the certification process to be allowed to service Dutch aircraft, which will cost them lots and lots of money. Probably more than they will ever make from the Dutch Hunters.
A weather forecast is a forecast and just that
