Foreign Military aircraft display permits for UK Civilian sh

Post by Rebecca_1984 »

Sorry if this has been covered before but just something I was thinking about this evening, lets say a civilian run event under CAA rules is allocated an armed forces aircraft display from abroad (just for an example lets say SoloTurk) how would it work in terms of the display authorisation, would it be sufficient that the Turkish Military had given him permission to display under there own rules or would the CAA need to give a separate permit as it was flying at a civilian run event ?

The situation is covered in CAP403 para 1.16:

Foreign military participation

1.16 All foreign military display items require the specific approval of the MOD before participating in a UK flying display. FDDs should seek early clarification from the MAA if they believe that such items will be participating in their flying display.

The Military Aviation Authority own and regulate it, both at civil and military events.
