Irish Coastguard S92 missing

Post by boff180 »

Reports contact was lost at around 01:00 this morning whilst providing cover for another chopper.

A search is now underway 6 miles west of Black Sod.

Here's hoping the crew are found safe.

One crew member found in the water, twitter reporting "critical" condition.

Thoughts and prayers to all those involved.

Sad day...

Just a reminder of the dangerous job these guys do every day of the year to keep joe public safe! Truly hope there are more survivors...

Thoughts and prayers with the families of the crew.

No further survivors yet found. Initial single crewperson found has been named as a Senior Pilot & female Captain (name not posted here!). Subsequently pronounced deceased at Hospital. Sadly not looking too promising for the others. Currently combing 25-50 metre deep seabed to locate the Flight Recorder with specialist equipment.
