Patch/Challenge Coin collection
Patch/Challenge Coin collection
What do you guys use to display yours? I have a growing number of both that are currently in a box but this seems a shame. I'm looking towards Arrowfile at present but they seem to have a myriad of different products and given the different size and shapes of patches and even to some extent the coins I'm wondering how others go about it?

Re: Patch/Challenge Coin collection
I keep mine in an old lens case and my RIAT tote bag from last year. No displaying at all.

Re: Patch/Challenge Coin collection
Mine are in a carrier bag in my wardrobe right now along with the collection of aviation pin badges I have... Plans are to get some of the nice/rare patches into frames and on the wall if The better half agrees (but which ones and how to batch them )
Coins - I need to have a think on, I'm not sure how to go about those yet... I've looked at the stands (either many of the plastic individual ones or a larger one) but not done any more. Before my house move last year, these were laid out on a glass shelf in one of those ikea glass cabinet-doosies

Sounds like you're in a similar position to me! Framing on the wall isn't really an option I don't have the wall space, but was thinking something like Arrowfile might be ideal. Extra pages can be added so could keep patches and coins together in one binder. Just they seem to have a huge range of sizes and combinations, and I guess patches are hardly uniform in shape and size. Just too many variables seemingly to come up with something simple.
Re: Patch/Challenge Coin collection
I use one of these from the Really Useful Box company to store all my coins. 16 compartments that are large enough for most coins and you can organise by Air Force etc.

Not found a way to display them yet (all the best units seem to be from the States) so I think I'm just going to add them to my website when I get chance to photograph them all as it acts as a useful reference point and I can add trades\wants etc.

Put them all in little cloth bags and hide them in an old piano.

They look lovely! Just wish I had the wall space!
Re: Patch/Challenge Coin collection
I store all mine in a large CD wallet folder. Cost about £10 from Tesco, holds many patches.
It also prevents the velcro backs of patches from ripping the front of other patches.

Talking of coins, I see the VC10 team at Bruntingthorpe have produced one for the May show:
