For those who requested a night shoot, great idea, but unfortunately not possible on this occasion....

Afternoon Kev - whilst I can appreciate you might not be able to support an evening/night time shoot in August - are there any plans on doing night shoots at Biggin later in the year?

Its being discussed so hopefully....

I'd also be interested, so long as the price is reasonable and position is suitable!

What he said...
nothing is confirmed at a show until its u/c hits the tarmac or it is running in for its display.....

Come on no need for that kind of comment. At least someone is trying to do something. No wonder people don't bother these days.

Would suggest you take a look at the link in my signature before saying "no wonder some don't bother" ;)

It was very much a joke, I'm aware of Kev's plans for this - in fact I've even offered my support on the day alongside a few other Threshold.aero volunteers so that the day can actually go ahead.

We know who you are ..... you say very much a joke (as I predicted) but doesn't come across that way. Lets be supportive rather than negative or have in jokes that don't work or have smart comment that just p*** other people off.

Lets get back to topic please - who is interested in attending an arrivals days at Biggin

POD wrote:I have been discussing the possibility of arranging a spotters/photographers day at Biggin Hill on Friday 18th August, the day prior to the show weekend....

Is there interest out there? There is a great line up for the show, both statics and flying...Most of which are expected to arrive on the Friday....
On top of that there will be several display items coming and going during the day that are displaying at Eastbourne, along with the regular airport traffic...

Initial discussions indicate an area would be provided giving opportunities to photograph aircraft on the main runway, and adjoining taxiway........

Tickets will be strictly limited , to probably in the region of 200......

Thoughts?

Assuming the enclosure was in a good spot that guaranteed the majority of arrivals with sun behind photographers, absolutely yes. Would love to do so

If you go by when the Czechs arrived at Yeovilton and RIAT it is not likely they will arrive on the Friday. I would hate this to become another arrivals disaster with people having too high expectations
