RNHF has an airworthy Swordfish again

Post by centaurus18 »

Not sure if reported on here (please delete if it has)...

The Royal Navy Historic Flight has successfully reflown its Swordfish I W5856 following a couple of years on the ground with engine trouble.
All being well = 2018 will see it and the Naval Aviation Ltd Fury T.20 airborne on the airshow circuit.

LS326 I guess will follow when it's Peg' has been rebuilt.

It's been up and about a fair bit this week converting a new pilot before leading a Wildcat over Yeovilton church this afternoon for a remembrance service.
Haven't seen it myself but I heard the Sea Fury go over (yesterday?).

An interesting thing to note, is that the Sea Fury's Centaurus engine has to run each week to distribute the oil evenly which is why it's also been flying recently.
