Visited Cockpit Fest for the first time today - I happened to be travelling past on the way home from a holiday and thought i'd pop in. I have to say, it's a brilliant event. Loads of variety, loads of enthusiasm and just a great atmosphere.

Highly recommended and will certainly try and make it a regular on my aviation calendar.

Following overnight discussions we have amended our ‘Hot Weather’ advice for visitors to the museum site & this has now been broadened to include some Open Cockpit information. For the most part this relates to the aircraft that are outside and in particular to the Vulcan, which will not be open until the temperatures drop to more comfortable levels.

Final reminder about the Shackleton Boys book launch at the museum this weekend; visiting Shackleton cockpit arrived safely this afternoon and everything is set for Saturday & Sunday

We have BBM flypasts on both days:
Sat 1 Sept - Lancaster (am)
Sun 2 Sept - Hurricane (pm)

Our provisional timings vary slightly to BBMF paperwork, but both have been advised to me by the pilots and as ever are subject to the usual weather / serviceability caveats!

We’ve had a busy day sorting out a new delivery of Revell plastic aircraft kits; too many to list here, but information has been loaded onto the museum website, in here!

Tomorrow we’ll be adding a similar update for the current stock of Corgi Collectables.

Thanks to the generosity of a long-standing museum supporter we have just benefitted from a major donation of aviation books and Corgi Aviation Archive diecast aircraft. These pre-owned items are now on sale in the Museum Shop and we thought the diecasts were worthy of listing; details in here!

Thank you for your comments rockfordstone and sorry that the weather wasn't up to much, we look forward to welcoming you back in better conditions.

Likewise we look forward to welcoming you to Newark Airwolfhound - I enjoyed helping to judge the Airscene 2019 Calendar competition, it had some good entries again this year. I hope that your wife enjoys the shop as well.

Just a quick reminder to anyone in the area this weekend (8 & 9 December) we have a FREE entry offer via the HLF #ThanksToYou campaign - details here! http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/ThanksToYou

It's a great way to check out the museum if you've never visited before!

That sounds good Brian; sadly I don't think that I'll be on site, otherwise it would have been to have chance to catch up.

The #LynxQP31rebuild project has already made some progress with a few panels having been refitted and parts of the cab sealed from the elements!

Here’s a quick advisory post in the run up to Christmas. The museum is open for the next 4 days before we have a mini 3 day closure for the holiday period (closed 24, 25 & 26 Dec) & we then re-open on Thursday 27 December. So there's still time to visit or get those aviation bargains from the Museum Shop!

Season’s greetings to everyone and thanks to those of you who have visited us this year!
