Hurricane R4118 moves to Duxford

Post by Ryan. »

Couldn't see this posted anywhere else, Hurricane R4118 is to move from Shuttleworth to Duxford. The Aircraft Restoration Company are to complete the work needed to get the aircraft airworthy again, it is then to be based at Duxford. Hopefully, it'll be a regular attendant at Shuttleworth still.

A shame, but a logical move in many respects.

Remind me? What happened to it? I'm assuming it's nothing minor like putting a second seat in it.
Get that 'money-maker' fixed & airborne asap!

Thanks for the info' Jumbo. It does seem strange that just an engine change is beyond Shuttleworths' ability? Maybe tied-in to more maintenance? :dunno:

The statement accompanying the news from the team suggested there’s a few more bits that need doing (and will be done by ARCo IIRC).
