UK based Gripen?

Post by jasonT1981 »

Watching the RIAT 2008 DVD (Show that never was) During the Gripen display they talked about the UK owning a SAAB JAS 39D Gripen, I believe it was the Empire Test Pilot School they mentioned.

Does the UK still have it? Does it still fly?

Aircraft are based in Sweden and QinetiQ buys flying hours from Saab

Yup based in Sweden.

There was a D model painted up with an ETPS tail, I don’t know if it still is though.
