Is the HM.4 replacing the HM.3?

Post by FGR.4 »

Are the green jungle Merlins being replaced by the newer gray ones, or will they coexist? I’m asking here as I’ve not found anything on the internet.

Thanks.

The green ones and the grey ones of the HC4 variant are the same machines.

The green HC3(i?)/3A(i?)s are being converted to HC4 status at Yeovil, and in the upgrade process are becoming grey. Those grey HC4s you see were all former olive-green HC3s.

IDK whether there are any plans to keep some of the fleet olive green but it doesn't look like it so far.

Also it's "Junglie", FYI.

Or seeing as they are Merlin Junglies, I like to think of them as Munglies.

Worth pointing out that the HM2 machines fulfill a very different role to the HC3/HC4. Easily confused now the whole fleet is going grey.
