Oh no, what a shame. Lovely man. I crewed his wonderful Corsair for several years in the 80s/90s. I knew he'd been poorly for quite a few years now.

Sad news, I have many fond memories of his 108 and Corsair at Biggin Hill Airshows in the 1980's.

Very sad, his Corsair and '108' were right there at the very start of the big warbird movement in the early '80s, stalwart of the scene...

I'm very sorry to hear this. Walton was a stalwart of the airshow scene, one of those real personalities of the industry. The Corsair was beautiful. The Stearman a bit of an oddball, with an enclosed canopy. I don't think I've seen another since.

RIP.

Very sorry to read this. I was good friends with Lindsey and was invited over to his house in Lincolnshire.

Great memories of his Me-108, French Corsair, Stearman and others.

Just reading that name brings back so many great memories. He was such a regular on the scene back then.

I'm sure we parked near the Corsair at my first IAT in 1985. A sad loss.

A colleague who lives in Sutton Bridge said that on Friday he saw a Messerschmitt type aircraft do two low flypasts in the area. I found out that there was a memorial service at a church in Sutton Bridge on Thursday for Lindsey Walton so wondered if said colleague got his days mixed up and the flypast was connected to the service?
