Stow Maries Aerodrome will be holding a vintage fly in day at the Aerodrome on Sunday May 8th 2011.
This will be a pay at the gate event. The site will open to the public at 9am and the event will close at 6pm.
Vintage aircraft have been invited to attend and will arrive in the morning. They will remain on a static flight line until they depart later in the day. There will be ample opportunities for the general aviation enthusiast to photograph and view the assembled aircraft as well as a display by WW1 re enactors in a camp. The event will also feature a display of military vehicles, guided tours of the site and to celebrate its farming history a number of vintage farm machines. Refreshments will be available and a selection of traders stalls for your perusal.
Aircraft that have been invited to attend include the Great War Display Team, the only Airco DH2 flying in Europe, a Fokker Triplane, a 7/8 scale Fokker Eindekker, a Sopwith Pup, Tiger Moths and a 1945 Auster. Other aircraft may join this list. Because of the flying characteristics and limitations of these types of aircraft, we are of course dependant on the weather and servicibility on the day.
There will be a wildlife display and a chance to meet a Harris Hawk with our Hawk Walk team.
Entrance is £8 per head Children under 16 £4 per head, payable by cash only at the entrance.
We look forward to hosting you at our first such event and wish you an enjoyable day on this unique site.
