Tribute to the V-Force 2012 – 28 April 2012

The date of the third Tribute to the V-Force event at Newark Air Museum has now been set for Saturday 28th April 2012 and the preliminary details have been added to the NAM website!

To whet a few appetites for next years gathering a new photo album entitled “V-Bombers at RAF Waddington” has been added to the Photo Gallery on the Museum website. This album features photographs from the museum archive – on this occasion from the N Franklin Collection.

Hopefully further V-Force albums will feature later in the year.

As part of the process of raising awareness of the gathering next year another photo album has been added to the Photo Gallery on the Museum website.

First up is a selection of Valiants taken at Farnborough, again they are from the N Franklin Collection and some of them first appeared in the 2010 Farnborough Airshow Guide.

Further Farnborough albums featuring the other V-Bombers will follow in alphabetical order later in the summer.

One good point to note is that following mentions of the event in several publications a good number of new V-Force contacts are being established!

The next aircraft in the 2012 V-Force event awareness campaign is the Victor and another photo album has been added to the Photo Gallery on the Museum website.

These Victors were again photographed at Farnborough and they are from the N Franklin Collection and some of them first appeared in the 2010 Farnborough Airshow Guide.

The steady flow of new V-Force contacts being established continues!

As part of the museum’s Tribute to the V-Force event in April 2012 we are assisting Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire (AHL) in trying to find former V-Force personnel who may be able to participate with AHL’s oral history recording programme called “Shouting The Odds”.

If you can help or you know someone who might be able to, could you please check out the "Shouting The Odds” on the museum website, which provides more details about the programme and who to contact at AHL.

Late last week another V-Force Appeal went out to the wider media and we understand that it has already generated some good feedback to the Reunion Team – please remember that the event on April 28th & 29th is open to everyone!

I thought that the information in this link might be of interest to enthusiasts and former V-Force personnel alike – it relates to a 30th Anniversary of the ‘Black Buck Raids’ event being held in the RAF Waddington Station Heritage Centre on Monday 30 April 2012, this is the day after NAM’s V-Force event.
