We had our 2011 wash-up meeting last night, and we are now able to confirm that the dates for RAFA Shoreham Airshow 2012 will be:-

1st-2nd September 2012

We are looking at a number of changes to the format and content of the show to keep the event viable and to maximise the return for the Royal Air Forces Association. These will be announced on the official website as soon as we are able to release the information.

All 2012 needs extra is a couple of fast jets, Apache and Chinook if displaying, Black Cats would be good to see again, and to improve the scramble. Oh and how about an F15 flypast like Bournemouth obtained, not sure if that happened though. Other than that i see no need for any major changes.

If the vulcan is around in 2012 shall we give it another chance to appear?

We currently await to hear back from RAF Events, JHC and Royal Navy in terms of our allocations this year, but we do ask for all their displays each year. I addition invitations have gone out to the French Air Force (who have strong links to Shoreham Airport if you look around the Terminal Building) amongst others. We can only hope for the best, though we are aware of some major aviation events in Eastern Europe over that weekend.

First time at Shoreham this year for me, looking like it's gonna be a cracker ! Fingers crossed the GR4s are definately there, always love a bit of noise !

I saw the GR4's at Eastbourne last year although to be honest i wasn't that impressed, they seemed to fly too far out at sea amnd the display was fairly short lived, or i suppose it could have been me being a bit fussy

Yes I agree, the GR4's at Eastbourne were too far away, but at Shoreham they would be
Blasting up the Adur valley, and over the downs.

Having seen the GR4s at Eastbourne can't wait for the noise at Shoreham especially as the display line is closer to the crowd than Eastbourne.Shame we cannot attract something from the French side of the channel even a helicopter in static would be something a bit different.

agree, can't wait to see the Tornados and Vulcan again. good point about helicopters, would have been nice to have the wokka or even the apache, but i guess neither were available.

re the static display, i notice on Shorehams official website its been stuck on 'To be Announced' ever since 19th February. Not sure whats going on there.
