Should Kemble even have it's own section on here any more ? There are bigger events that don't ?

Here's hoping the participation list improves dramatically over the coming weeks.

Don't hope too much. The show has dramatically scaled down due to costs.

I loved the 2 Kemble shows I was able to attend and feel very sad that the situations going on have led them to have to hugely scale back. Its tough times, tougher than I think we realise for organisers too.
I figure we are all counting costs these days, I have to come from South London so have to factor in whether its good value to do such a show when include transport etc.

I would certainly attend if the show really did show best of British and had Vampire Meteor and Hunter in flying display and if possible a lovely static display of British things you do not see so much on the scene like such as Fox Moth,Puss Moth,Miles messenger etc etc. This with a classic car line up too would make a nice little event and something different too.

I wish the Kemble guys all the best in hard times and will kepp looking at the lineup before deciding if I can make it.

Sounds completey crap to be honest. I wasted money on the Battle of Britain "air show" last year, and got a snotty PM from the commentator through here for criticising it.

Until Kemble bring back a proper airshow, I wont be wasting my money on
an interactive wildlife zoo featuring meerkats, rabbits, reptiles and spiders.
and three hours of planes I'll have seen somewhere else umpteen times.

Problem is the 'proper airshow' wasn't supported well enough by the public. You only had to look at the thin crowd last year on a day when the Vulcan was appearing to realise something had gone badly wrong with crowd numbers.

I'd love to see Kemble as a 'jet Duxford' with wall to wall classic jets but they're expensive as hell and perhaps a more varied day out for joe public & kids with far fewer flying participants is the only way the event can make a profit and therefore continue to be viable.

Or maybe go back to holding it on just one day rather than two? Halve your operating costs and probably still attract 75% of those who attend over two days.

Also keep the show the same way round with the sun at your back.

Precisely - could never understand why they went for 2 days....

Keeping the layout the same is a no-brainer...

Will there be a UKAR enclosure at Kemble 26/27 August this year ? If so where can tickets be obtained ?

Bob.

The problem with that is by holding the show over one day instead of two , you don't halve the costs. the vast majority of the showground equipment hire is over the weekend as a minimum. In the same respects, holding the show on the southside can cost considerably more than tower side. It's a balancing act of how many people are expected, what acts you want, overall costs + more.

I went today, great weather, not a huge crowd, but the warmth shown to all the teams that flew, fantastic.

Went with an open mind, and was £20.00 of my hard earned well spent.

A most pleasant day out.

Ditto above except I bought my ticket for £15.00 on line

Weather forecast for tomorrow (Monday) looks awful which is a pity. The organizers made a great effort and it was a good day out.

I don't know why but I enjoy watching the Tiger Nine Display Team. I saw them a couple of times last year too and if I remember correctly they performed in atrocious weather at Kemble last September !
