Due to the time not being released yet i go by the usual time families days normaly start, arrivals normaly come in for 10-11am and after then the displays usualy start.

Hope this helps and if any exact timing that come in i will keep you posted.

Also yes you will be able to watch from the outside aslong as its in a good area where it wont cause any trouble, or just look out for the other spotters

Thanks, Sismore

Hi, I think you have listed Aerostars departure time rather than display time (12:30)

What's Odiham like for pictures?

Post by tankbuster »

Does anybody have experience at photography from the outside at Odiham families days. Is the road at the threshold of 10 any good, given that they will probably be using 28 as the landing runway. Decent enough views from the south side lay bys but too far away for the best pictures I assume.

Their is not time for the arrival of the Typhoon, i know its doing a night stop for a show the following day.

Arrivals will be between 9-10:0oam with the Zline 50XL, Great War display team, Spitfire, Aerostars, messerschmitt 108 and bucker jungmann according to the days running order.

Working at home Friday it is then with late lunch at 2pm

Just north of the pink dot on the map is a track to the right that is good for the approach shots. Fairly good for the family day pics aswell but most people watch from where the red dot is on the map although parking up can be a pain sometimes.

Good line up though

Hi Sismore,

Any news on the full flying programmes for Cranwell and Wittering's Families days? They're both looking a bit thin at the mo especially by Witterings usual standards. Just deciding if it's going to be worth making the journey up to both or not.

Many thanks
Steve

Still awaiting some updates on these mate, but Wittering is being organised by a differant guy this year, last year i was in contact with the organiser who put on a very impressive show!

This year does look very thin at the moment, the link below is the actual Wittering website and most of it is ground attractions.

http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafwittering/even ... ay2011.cfm

Will keep a look out for updates.

Thanks, Sismore

Leeming F&F

Timings for the reds

Just a little more info - timings for the reds:

Saturday 9 June 2012

1543 - Reds depart SCAMPTON

1600 - Reds display LEEMING

1632 - Reds recover SCAMPTON

Also confirm role demo from 100sqd (most probs 4 or 5 ship)

Looking doubtful for a T50 in the air unless one gets up tomorrow!

Thanks Sismore regarding Wittering.
The end line up is a bit sparse compared to usual i have to say. The weather has been terrible anyway so i've decided to give it a miss. Apparently with the exception of the Chinook the participating aircraft aren't allowed to land due to the runway not being suitable anymore...that didn't take long  !!

Cheers
Steve

Wow thats really worrying for an RAF base to now not have a runway, should have kept Cottesmore open, the runway is perfect  ..

Cottesmore had its own Merlin Demo today, it was up and down for at least Half an Hour from Mid-day and i could view it in my bedroom
