Russian & Eastern European Fly-In 23rd Sept '12

Hi guys,

I've been arranging this now for a few weeks with Jeff, the airfield manager at Sywell. It's the first event of this kind to be held there and with luck, it should hopefully have a good turn out.

I'm inviting several aircraft types, arranging from An-2's, Yak-3/9/18/18T/50/52's, Wilga's, Technoavia SMG-92, Sukhoi's and Zlin aircraft with some hope of more.

There is a public viewing car park with an aviation museum attached, parking there is free and visitors can wander down the hangar line (off airside) to get a good view of the aircraft.

Sounds very promising, personally I don't use Facebook, nevertheless looking forward to this event and I think you've pitched the date at a good time, I'll be looking out for further updates.

Lots been going on, both in my life and sorting this out. We have 10+ aircraft confirmed with a special guest to, with also a few guys hoping to attend from Germany!

We've got around 10+ definite with the hope of 20+ that could turn up, Really hope this weather plays ball.

Sadly a German guy has pulled out as his registration hasn't gone through in time, though his friends may come still..

This will test the water anyway for next year that will be bigger and better!

Update on possible line up from Radleigh on Facebook:

LY-AUP An-2 (have invited over 10 An-2's), 2 definite but possibly 3 Nanchang CJ-6's - if the weather is good they will be performing a small display, Yak-18T/52 & 18's, Wilga (hopefully 2).. and we have had a lot of interest from Germany, though my main contact has dropped out due to his registration not going through in time.

Despite being a washout, this is being re-planned for next year, a date will be confirmed hopefully later this week, around late August! Apologies for anyone who turned up only to see one An-2!
