can I access the Airshow via A15

Dear all
With the Waddo website being reduced to basics I can't seem yo get an answer to this simple question

Can I access the Airshow by car directly from the A15. Speaking to the Security today they said the gate wouldn't be open except for special passes
Just want a straightforward yes or no . I Can find the other car parks easily enough as I passed a few today
Particularly wanted A15 access if at all possible

you get put where you are given, usually they do use the A15 gate, but it's pot luck as to where you'll be taken into the base

No you don't, you go to whichever gate is closest, or whichever one you drive to. IF you're incapable of making you way far enough around to get on the A15, that's your problem I don't see any reason why the A15 gate won't be in use - that's the sort of thing I'd expect them to have publicised by now!

A15 gate is in use, it is also the entrance for Silverwings ticket holders, Andy

Been to the PAVE today and asked if I could get in that way tomorrow they said No its coach parking and silver wings only. So anyone hot any other suggestions how to get on base parking I will be there for 7am

its easy, follow the road signs

Where you coming from, the A15 is the major road past the base, or the A607.
You have internet so google maps or earth will show you.

People have been going along the A607 and then diverted onto A15 by Police. Problems mentioned with Traffic Management and people in queues for 1.5 hrs

Nightmare this morning, normally 45 mins from Bourne, took 2 and a half hours, arrived as Chinook displayed.
No idea why it was so slow to get in when it was just ticket checks and not cash change,cards etc. Still, top day out and wow, Solo Turk, Draken, Viggen, Swiss F18, all excellent

I came up the A15 from the south and there was a sign saying go left for public parking/red route but we were directed straight on. Hit the back of the queue at 8.49am and got out of my car at 10.39am!!

2.5 hours to get from near Lincoln railway station to the airfield, utter, utter shambles!

Just to clarify for those reading this thread.

The A15 gate IS open to the public and gets you to Orange car park. But for the love of your sanity avoid it like the plague, utter chaos yesterday at this gate due to only 2 ticket collectors being on duty!
