Cotswold Airport Fly In- Sunday 21st September 2014

Post by MRTT »

Tomorrow Cotswold Airport is holding a Vintage Fly In and I was wondering if anyone could possibly tell me what aircraft are expected.

Always difficult to tell in advance - being a fly-in of a casual nature.... Weather dependant etc.
I'll be there with a few others from the Events Team volunteers but we expect an enjoyable relaxing day with whatever turns up

Brilliant! Any idea if they will be performing a display.

Don't think so, just heading off for displays elsewhere and recovering but you never know! Had a rather spirited fly past from the canberra last fly in

Is this event open to the public or is AV8 still open to the public ?

Had a great day at Kemble today, enjoyed every minute especially the take off of the Mid Air Squadron Canberra & Hunter before they departed to Southport. Also rather enjoyed seeing the 2 Bulldogs & replica Focke Wolf.

 Back home now after an exceptional day at Kemble! Rather busier than we could have predicted, but then the weather was in our favour with GA arriving from far and wide - filled 3 rows on the grass! Nice to see our regular Alouette back again too, amongst many other interesting types! Canberra and Hunter departures and return were nice to see, and the place was heaving with visitors, both airborne and by road. AV8 had their work cut out dealing with food orders all day!

Yes Rick - Kemble is always open to the public including AV8 - sorry I could not reply sooner but I was offline by the time you posted earlier....

Nice little event at Kemble yesterday in good weather. Highlights for me were the two rare Great Lakes bi-plane. Was told the Midair Hunter and Canberra were going off 'after lunch, any time after 1230'. The Hunter went out and came back but waited til 1500 and the Canberra still hadn't taken off, so gave up!

You must have missed them by a couple of minutes! Can't have been much after 15:00 when they went up

I think that's called 'Sod's Law' isn't it? Anyway the sun had disappeared as the clouds had rolled in by then!
