Strong Rumours
- 2x Mig-29 Fulcrum PLAF
- Su-22 Fitter PLAF
- Casa 295 PLAF

Quiet a nice line-up so far I think. Lot of afterburner action and there are even some sounds here in Holland that they might trying to get the Czechs ( JAS-39,Alca,Hind at sanicole the day after).

Highlights for me:
- Formation of 7 Hunters
- 4 F-16 Demo's
- ItAF C-27
- Finnish F-18 with Flares if I'm correct
- PLAF Mig-29 if true

Feel free to add or chance

Do you realise the man that confirmed what would be sent by Poland and the Czechs are being worked at at scramble is one of the organisers of the show? (so "Strong Rumours" and "some sounds" are not quite the right terms)

Because I heard also "some sounds" that the czechs aren't coming, to make you feel better I will put it differently. The organiser on scramble said that they have confirmed the polish air force will come with 2xfulcrums,1xfitter and a Casa. One of the fulcrums is doing display. They are now working on the czechs

A fantastic line-up, really looking forward to it after my first RNLAF Open Dagen last year. Having seen the Mig 29 at Yeovilton it is a lovely display, not as high impact as the ones from the 90's (Hungarian for example) with tail slides and loads of afterburner but well worth it with a nice scheme.

Well done to the organisers

First time visitor question: Which is a good spot for photography at Leeuwarden? My preference would be take offs and landings rather than aerial shots. I guess the spectators will be on the south side of the long runway? Any information will be appreciated.

Direct at the fence. AFAIK Mostly 24 is in use, but you can't get closer to the treshold than the intersection with 27 (which normally is used for some big static aircraft, think DC-10, C-17). If they use 06, my guess would be you can't see landings or take-offs (unless the aircraft need a big take-offrun, but I've never seen 06 in use during a show) due to the trees and firefighting equipment might be on duty there, which is likely to ruin shots. Further from what I understood, in that corner of the public area there might be a press enclosure. (As this is where the spotters will be placed during the spottersday.)

See http://www.scramble.nl -> where to go -> Airfield Guide -> Netherlands -> Leeuwarden. At the southern taxiway you see 3 aprons. Go straight up from the left apron towards runway 06-24, then to the right parallel to the runway till the intersection between the two runways, continue parallel runway 09-27 until the eastern taxiway, follow this one till reaching the southern one, and you have the public area.

Patrulla Aquiila cancelled due to the death of the leader's mother.

The base has been affected by the recent bad weather, visitors are advised to take this into account when deciding what clothes and shoes they are going to wear. As of yesterday, it was not thought to be of any influence to the program.

Did one of the Black Cats have a problem or is it usual for one to land and a solo display take place?
