Hmm, I don't read Hungarian well, but I think that only says they've been invited.

Yep, if you look at the icons it says: RED: NOT CONFIRMED, YELLOW: IN NEGOTIATIONS and GREEN: CONFIRMED

That's right. Anything with the green symbol next to it, with the aircraft in bold, means it's confirmed and anything with the yellow symbol next to it means the country has, I believe, said they'll participate but the specific aircraft is yet to be confirmed. Everything else on the list is just what the organisers have invited to attend.

The yellow sign means only the country's intention to participate.
The green means confirmed participation and the bold aircraft will be there.

Currently only the Czech Republic confirmed with L-159, L-410 & Mi-24.
Belgium, Greece, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia, Turkey intend to participate but no confirmation.

Others countries are only invited and you can see the requested aircraft types.

English version here for future reference

It will be interesting to see if the GR9 team accept, after last years display  (did we ever get an answer?)

Lets hope that the take up of invites matches the schedule last year. It was the highlight of the year for me, after the disappointment of RIAT.

I use www.skyscanner.net to search for flights. The best I have found for me is £110 with Easyjet from Gatwick to Budapest. Flying out Thursday or Friday afternoon at 1645 and returning on Sunday evening at 2045.

In Budapest you can find several hotels. Probably the cheapest one is the easyHotel Budapest Oktogon which costs 55euro for 2 nights (£49 at the moment). Other hotels on booking.com: link
From Budapest you can get to Kecskemét by train/bus/car and it takes ~1 hour. The train or the bus travel costs ~2000HUF which is 6GBP now per direction.

In 2008 the most aircraft arrived on Thursday because the organizers expected heavy storms for Friday and departed until 12.00 on Monday. If you would like to catch the arrivals or departures you should rent a car, because the airbase is relatively far away from the railway and bus station (on the showdays there will be a direct bus service from there).

They won't arrive finally. The Kecskemét Airshow 2009 is cancelled because of the financial crisis.

Shame about the show being cancelled!

Here in the UK people were gutted about the loss of the RAF role demo but at least we've still got airshows!

Well, I'm not Hungarian, but there were concerns about this, as Hungary has a really big recession now. Unfortunately, bad things came to life... I hope Radom won't follow...

Well atleast the Harrier GR9 display team will be available now, I guess

Sorry to hear the news Bazsi, I was just starting to contemplate a return to Kecskemet this year following wally_as earlier post about Radom. Looks like i'm the kiss of death. Hang on I went to RIAT last year....... :tumbleweed:
