French Shows 2016

Post by st24 »

Uncharacteristically early with their announcements-

Creil 29 May
Istres 11-12 June
Avord 18-19 June

Creil is nice and close for the ferry/tunnel. Avord's not a bad base, never done Istres show.

I imagine Istres would be a decent show as it usually gets some nice CEV types on static plus some C-135FR action, but annoyingly it clashes with Leeuwarden and is the day after the Anatolian Eagle spotters days!

Creil could be done in a long weekend. Might be worth keeping tabs on that one.

Would love to visit Avord at some time... French E-3s!

A question none of us want to ask. Will France continue with these events after Friday's tragedy and the highest possible state of alert being put in place?

Far too soon to know what the impact of this will be on large scale public events in France in the medium term.
Currently the French president has declared a state of emergency, which lasts for 12 days but can be extended with the approval of the French Parliament. Euro 2016 is due to be played in France next summer and at the moment the organisers of that are still working on the basis that it will go ahead.
