La Ferte Alais 2016

Post by st24 »

Don't think there's an open topic for this event, either way they've posted their provisional programme-
Looks pretty good as usual though I'm amazed that they're not seeing the Super Etendard off in style as they've been such regular attenders in the past..

Did it last year and absolutely loved it. That line up has got me tempted to go again this year...

I'll be there. Been going on a regular basis since '08. I really enjoy it.

I will be there for maybe the 20th time in a row.
This airshow is for me non-negotiable ...

I will try my brand-new Sigma 150-600 sport.
Weather seems not too bad, after one week of rain here.

Stay tuned for the photo-report !

Well I didn't bother this year in the end. Have seen a few shots on Twitter from today's show and it looks rather grey. Better light tomorrow hopefully.

Saturday was bitterly cold and cloudy for much of the day but thankfully no rain. Mid to late afternoon though the sun appeared and many of the highlights appeared in glorious light. The forecast tomorrow looks better with lighter winds. Despite the odd no show I thought the show was excellent .. Non stop action from 13.00-18.45...highlights for me...Corsair 747, Securitie Civile demo, Navy demo, Bronco amongst others. I'm back again on Sunday and it wont be 4 years before I return again like it has been this time round.

I'm looking into doing the show next year, don't suppose anybody could tell me how much it would cost for flights, hotel and show tickets?

Tickets were €25 per day. Static park is extra but by buying in advance (day before in local Leclerc supermarket) static park was included.
Hotels are as cheap as you want - ranging from Formule 1 at about €30 a night, up.
Flights - don't know. I go by boat. Dover to Calais is cheapest but means driving further. I prefer to use Portsmouth to Caen.

This is what I paid this year, you could probably get a cheaper hotel though:

Flights - £60
Hotel - €207 (2 nights)
Show ticket - €25 (flight line walk is an extra €5)
Paris visitor card, 1 day all zones train ticket - €23
