Ursel Avia, 30/06 and 1/07

Post by Chrisse »

I know some members came last year and enjoyed themselves so just mentioning it here...
Next weekend will see another Ursel Avia. It is not a real airshow (no aerobatics) but there will be several demonstrations complementing the static display, which will also see the return of the RAF, thank you :)

Highlights include Christian Moullec with his geese, Belgian A109 and Red Devils, the kickoff of the Seaking's farewell tour and quite a few historic aircraft, like a French Skyraider and the 'new' Belgian Spitfire.

On the ground, in addition to the RAF, will be a French Air Force Xingu and a rare appearance by the Belgian Air force's A321 and the first public outing of the Lockheed Electra that just arrived in Belgium.

The Lockheed Electra suits the event's central theme "aviation in movies" very nicely. There will also be an exhibition on this theme, plus other ground entertainment and pleasure flights with helicopters and an An-2.

Ursel is near Bruges and Ghent so very doable for a day trip by car from the UK. However, if you do come by car, you'll miss the event's own beer, the Ursel Vliegenierken :)

Pop by for a relaxing aviation-filled day. More than 70 aircraft should be there, so it is a great opportunity to expand your Belgian vintage aircraft collection without the usual airshow stress.
