Sorry if this is the wrong section mods...I assume it is though.
Anyway, the questions...
What is this show like? What`s it like to get into? What`s it like for photography? Can one do this in a day (UK to France and back)? Anyone knows what`s due?
Thanks in advance for the advise...
Neil
Paris Air Salon - couple of questions...
Re: Paris Air Salon - couple of questions...
Entrance - nothing short of a nightmare on public days - think of a footballl crowd and you get the idea and its so slow.
Photography - watch out for the 2 metre fence on the crowdline, sun in your face for significant part of the day and if you think Farnboro displays are far away then wait till you see this. For photography often wondered if you were better outside.
Travel - never done it in a day, gone for a long weekend

What is this show like?
Think Farnborough with a few more aircraft
What`s it like to get into?
A nightmare
What`s it like for photography?
Not that bad although the sun isn't in an ideal position
Can one do this in a day (UK to France and back)?
I would have thought so
Anyone knows what`s due?
F22, Sukhoi Superjet, Air France A380 handover so expect if flying with the PdF

Photography options for public day visitors is not good. The public viewing area's are small, way back from the display line and, as mentioned, behind a high fence. Static can be ok but generally too crammed in.
Its easily done in a day, easyjet from Luton for example will get you there for 08.00-ish and get the last flight home at 10pm. Bus from CDG to the show costs a few euro's. The whole day trip experience isn't great in my view, not totally sure why I'm doing it again this year to be honest .
Re: Paris Air Salon - couple of questions...
The enthusiast/photographer just isn't catered for at Paris. If you want to spend a day in the company of a seething mass of mostly rude people there are worse places to do it. If you do decide to try and photograph the flying display and don't have access to the press area, invest in a lens the size of the Hubble telescope. My report on the 2005 show gives you some idea of what you can expect.
