Just to give everyone a heads up according to the Airborne website the Vulcan is now appearing an hour earlier on Saturday, 11 August Update........

PLEASE NOTE: The Vulcan will now display earlier on Saturday at 16.13.

The Dakota will replace the B17 and the Mustang is now unable to display on Saturday.

I saw on twitter than the Tornados were planning a practice display, so more than likely that's what you saw

Someone was asking about places to view the show. Just to see what it was like I went on the pier on Friday and it was not a good place to be as you are looking into the sun and there are lots of huts obstructing the view

Yep, was holding in the area over the Lighthouse near Beachy Head as well, so plenty of opportunities photos

just got back from on sitting on the beach all day at eastbourne, absoutley chocker, largest crowd i've seen since 2006. Vulcan was spotted circling around Beachy Head waiting for the j/p to finish its display, for the first time during the day almost everyone stood up at that point to watch the approach etc. After the display finished a fair few people then upped and left.

No doubt in my opinion what the star attraction was today.

Also, i am told Vulcan was spotted at Shoreham with the blades, does anyone know if it did a flypast on transit?

just got back from on sitting on the beach all day at eastbourne, absoutley chocker, largest crowd i've seen since 2006. Vulcan was spotted circling around Beachy Head waiting for the j/p to finish its display, for the first time during the day almost everyone stood up at that point to watch the approach etc. After the display finished a fair few people then upped and left.

No doubt in my opinion what the star attraction was today.

Also, i am told Vulcan was spotted at Shoreham with the blades, does anyone know if it did a flypast on transit?

Yeah the Vulcan over flew Shoreham with the Blades before they broke off and landed.

I was up on Beachy Head and was absolutley blown away by the Vulcan absolutley epic!!! It came down so low over the sea casting its shadow. Just an awesome experience, it seemed to appear from nowhere. Something i shall certainly never forget

Well after much debate in the local paper leading up to the show, with many saying that the ten grand spent on the Vulcan was a waste of taxpayers money, I would like to say, as an Eastbourne Council tax payer, no it wasn't. Fantastic from Beachy head. Better than spending the money on consultacy fees or public relations, at least we actually saw what we were getting for our money.

Great day at Beachy Head today, when I heard it was Kev Rumens piloting XH558 today, I new we were
in for something special, it really looked like the Vulcan was as low as the lighthouse

Awesome video. I was on the beach and she looked amazing there, but wow! so low over the sea. I thought the airshow was great, lots of variety and some excellent displays, especially the matadors and the chinook, and of course the Vulcan. Better display than far borough and 41 quid cheaper! Roll on next year.

Good airshow yesterday was nice to see the Vulcan was good display and seeing it flying round beachy head was a nice sight but for me best display was Flapjack in miss demeanour

The Vulcan crew stated on twitter that they was meeting up with the Blades yesterday to do a photo shoot, before they rolled into Airborne. I was also up at beachy head yesterday and the view was fantastic. Really hope Airborne is on again next year and they get the Vulcan again absolutely brilliant to see it and the display it put on.

Ok just heard that Lancaster has failed at Manston with hot brakes airport fire brigade escorted it back why it was getting towed to parking.

Might not have mattered about the Lanc, as when the Spitfire arrived overhead, lots of low cloud had rolled in from Beachy Head after the wind had gone round to a westerly and he aborted after a couple of flypasts. Cloud base was down to 400 feet at one point before lifting again. Beachy head can be like that, one minute clear, next minute shrouded in clag.
A bit disappointing today I thought, with some items opting to depart to the east, where it was a lot clearer and some being a bit high or a bit far out to sea round the head. Or maybe I was spoiled over the previous two days. Roll on next year.
