Next time I'll ignore the Met Office!

Good to hear that donations are healthy for next year, I always throw a few quid your way whether I can make it or not as it's worth it to see the pictures from the hill every year. Hope it continues!

I echo the thoughts of everyone by saying a big thank you to Morley, Kevin and everyone else who helped to make the show a success - not forgetting the great people flying the aircraft and their support staff.

Cheers one and all for making the event happen  . And the rain held off!

Finally well done to John who I met on the hill who made a special day trip to Dawlish from Sheffield. Hope you got back at a decent hour considering the traffic was heavy in Dawlish when I left! Candidate for longest distance travelled by someone on the hill?

This is excellent news

While there are a lot of people involved in making the show what it is I think we all owe Kev a big  , without him it just wouldn't happen.

Huge thanks to Kev & everyone else involved  - this was my third year on 'the hill' and looking forward to a fourth in 2011

For those of you who may not have seen the latest on the website a little news update for you all. The collection on the day raised in excess of £10,000 - an enormous improvement on last year. With money also raised through programme sales and a fundraiser the night before the show, which on it's own raised around £4,800, we're in a much better position going forward. We can't afford to sit back now though, Kev is hoping to make next year better than ever and so often in the past our ambition has only been tempered by our funds. The Friends scheme is up and running for 2010/2011 and now you can join online here - http://www.dawlishairshow.co.uk/fodas/apply.html You can either take out a years membership or to save time next year take out a continuous membership.

The site now features a shop where you can buy prints and airshow merchandise, see http://www.dawlishairshow.co.uk/shop.php We are considering extending the range of merchandise for next year and would be interested to hear what items you would like to see available for purchase. It would also be good to get an idea of what sort of price you'd expect to pay, as merchandise so often means spending a lot up front having items that are considered too pricey and don't sell would be a disaster. So if you always buy a certain item when you go to a show and would like to add a Dawlish version to the collection please let us know.

For the full website update see http://www.dawlishairshow.co.uk/news.php

John, that's quite some trek you had! Glad it was worthwhile making the effort. They may not have travelled as far but I was very impressed by a lady on the hill who was in her late 80s if she was a day, with a man I think was her son, who'd come down on the train from London for the day and had made it up the hilll and told me it was an annual day out for them.

Hi,

I've finally managed to get around to posting something..........sorry its taken so long.

Well the 2010 Dawlish Air Show was an undoubted success. The weather tried its best to defeat us but we managed to get a full display in!!!

Many, many thanks to everybody who supported us this year, even the smallest contributions made a difference. So thanks to everybody who donated time, money, advice, help, support and to all those who brought a FODAS membership and to all the local people and businesses who got behind us and supported us to the hilt. The success of the 2010 show really was down to each and every one of you. Thank you!!

I cant end though with out thanking all of the team I had around me on the day, but special thanks must go to Jen, Emma, Jimmy and Warren. We acheived what we didnt think was possible and we can confidently say Dawlish Air Show 2011 will go ahead...........................Thursday 18th August 2011...........................
