Airbourne- Eastbourne International Airshow 2012

Postby Sarang on Fri 09 Mar 2012, 3:40 pm

According to Flightline, the show currently has:

RAF Hawk
RAF Tucano
BBMF
SWIP Team

The excellent Patrouille Reva (Space Knights) also seem to be making a return according to their site:
http://patrouille.reva.pagesperso-orange.fr/infos.htm

(although to it as 'Eastbound' - the dates are the same)

Hoping for some international military participation to rival that of the 2005/2006 shows- would be great to see both the RNLAF and Belgian F-16s in the lfying display again!

Was it '05 when they managed to get the USAF B1 Lancer? It flew over my house in Worthing en route to its display, and I struggled to get various uninterested family members to appreciate the rarity and sheer brilliance of the occasion. I couldn't quite believe it myself to me honest.

Looking a little short of star items this year, okay Tornados are there but just a couple of passes if I remember from previous shows.no Reds,F-16 as yet nor a Typhoon.Hope there is some late additions else might give it a miss this year.Would be nice to see the Vulcan or even something from USAF,a F-15 instead of the usual KC.

The most lacklustre line up in Years!!!! It needs at least 2 star items to replace the Reds.Dosent warrant the fuel this year to attend..

Totally agree- Eastbourne really needed to get something like the Typhoon/ F-16 back to make the flying display a bit more attractive. However, there's still time left for the organisers to pull something out of the bag. It would be good to see something along the lines of the Breitling Jet Team/ Red Star Rebels / Aerostars/ Pioneer Team being booked and the Vulcan would be great!

+1

When Airbourne had the likes of the Belgian/ Dutch F16s, USAF KC135s, Hungarian AeroTriga Team, French Team Crystalline (3 x Fouga Magister), RJF, Mirage 2000 and USAF B1B was it not being organised by Air Displays International (Biggin Hill Air Fair) and then by RIAT?

Who organises the flying nowadays?

Its not going to be a vintage year for Eastbourne that's for sure, but with the Reds opting to go to Moscow this year we have to appreciate that to some extent its completely out of the organisers control. The really unfortunate thing is that they haven't been able to attract an F16 display which would have been really important this year. Eastbourne's place on the airshow calendar has been fragile in recent years to say the least, I just hope that they don't decide to call it a day after this year if it turns out to be a flop.

That's great news as I hope to go on the Saturday, I just queried your post as the display isn't listed on the VTTS display calendar yet. Fingers X

Wow! Great Update! Looks like the best lineup since the ticket debarcle and the near-collapse of the show!
Well done to the organisers!

Those are from 2010 i think.

The Vulcan is still listed on Flightline:

I wasn't going to do Eastbourne this year, but the prospect of the Vulcan possibly being there has changed my mind. Just thinking about XH558 rounding Beachy Head

Still nothing on Vulcan display list and only mention on Eastbourne display page is looking for sponsors to get aircraft to show so do not bank on it coming too much.Still on Flightline update but really should read TBC .
