That is a very good point, slightly getting carried away with typing there

tittle is still a word! :lmao:
noun
1.
a dot or other small mark in writing or printing, used as a diacritic, punctuation, etc.
2.
a very small part or quantity; a particle, jot, or whit: He said he didn't care a tittle.

Even the jets wont be able to transit between both events on the same day. All shared display items
will have to go to one event one day and the other the next day or vice versa. Then again duxford is being
held on the Sunday only, so Southend will have to have some items that are appearing at the show only
to go on the saturday. I wonder which airshow has the priority on the Sunday. Also do you want to see Frankie whistling
over the sea at the beach or the BBMF, or see them perform over an ex WW2 Fighter airfield i think the choice
is down to the weather  personally I would do both venues if I could !

I think thats the reason the BBMF didnt go to Duxford both days during flying legends, not due to the weather but
the huge distance between Waddington and Duxford, and the accompanying fuel bills that would go with it. They would have to stop off at Alconbury and Waterbridge to refuel. Then the long trek to Duxford, getting to Leuchars is childs play in comparison
although maybe not Blackpool !

Eddie

The Typhoon was based at Southend Airport this year and did Duxford earlier in the day at Southend later in the afternoon.

Refuel where? Alconbury closed some years ago, and Waterbridge (Waterbeach?) has been an army base for 30 + years with the runway long gone. And surely a Lancaster - and even a Spitfire and Hurricane - can make it from Waddington to Duxford and back without topping-up for fuel.

I hope the next Southend airshow will be bigger than the last one, with more xtreme flying machines in action.

Also I was hoping the flying programme will go on for 4 hours instead of 3, like say 1pm - 5pm or 2pm - 6pm, to keep the action going, that will be smashing!!!

It's an excellent show. I've turned down an all expenses paid trip to the Monaco Grand Prix as I prefer to go to Southend. I've already booked some time off work to go to the show and have booked my train tickets and hotel too.
