Is the show still definitely going ahead ? My dad has booked a room in a hotel on the Leas, for 3 nights you see for us both.

Looks like it to me - they've had a few supporting events in the build up so hopefully they have enough funding.

New additions! Canberra/Hunter on Saturday and Kennet T6 on Sunday

Where do most of the aircraft operate from for Folkstone?

Hi Stu.

We have got an Airfix 'Make and Paint' at the Memorial site on Saturday, last year the display aircraft were scheduled to enter/exit the display line over the site, as it was, we got a few low singleton passes from the Red Arrows during their display, and a very low flypast with smoke by the whole team right over the Memorial at the end of their display. Unfortunately, I have no details of the display line for this year.

Hi Robin,

I remember, sitting on the cliff edge :)

This year though with the family need to be on flatter ground and on the display line for the other activities to keep the kiddies occupied.

We'll have to meet up in town at lunchtime in the model shop, not done that for ages!

While I've been in folkestone today we've had a practice display from the raf tutor, and as I speak the army air corps lynx helicopter is practicing over the seafront. Hopefully a warbird will soon too. Does anyone know of any other practice displays that are planned for today ?

Gnat Display Team are no longer appearing. Saturday's line up is far better than Sunday's which looks rather empty in comparison.

Yes I know  tomorrow's weather doesn't look too bad however there are only about 5 displays going by Flightline and the Folkestone web page. Someone said on FB the Sabre might not be there, the Gnats have pulled out and I don't imagine the Kent Spitfire will be there either. All the RAF stuff is at Cosford.

I was really pleased to see the midair canberra and hunter not seen a canberra for years and both aircraft produced many blue notes especially the hunter. But I'm really dissapointed not to see the full contingent from the bbmf especially considering they were all on their way at some point !!! But I did think it was a good show nevertheless. Eddie

We will be sending Spitfire Mk9, MK912 our Normandy veteran as TA805 is still unserviceable. Pilot will be Dan Griffith.

Very enjoyable Saturday at the Folkestone airshow, the park and ride worked well, and the display line nice and close to shore, standing on the large rock sea defence gets you even closer :ninja:
The highlight for me was the great sound of the Midair squadron, howling avon engines and
Hunter blue note combined.
