Scarborough Armed Forces Day 2014

Post by Roco »

I'm putting this up as I missed this last year.

I wonder what is what will appear this year?

Saturday 28th June is the day.

What will appear? I suspect the answer to that is 'Not a lot'. Neither the Typhoon or Reds have it listed on their schedules for this year - both are down for AFD in Stirling. Apart from the BBMF, Tuc or Chinook that doesn't leave a huge amount. Shame really 'cos last year was brilliant.

Doesn't seem to be quite as good as last years. Isn't the Vulcan down for displaying?

The Vulcan is something I'll look forward to seeing! Does anybody know what else is there this year? I really enjoyed the event last year. I've tried searching but haven't seen anything else confirmed yet.

I was down on the beach last year, not sure whether this shot helps with the datum question...

Hi John - excellent thanks - your Reds photo confirms the display datum was the Foreshore Road, south bay...looks like a sunny day on the beach

Thanks

No probs, it was a cracking day in the end. Started off cloudy and that shot would have been in much better light if the Reds had been on time, they were delayed by 20 mins due to a broken jet. This shot was taken around 14:20.

Real shame there is no Reds for this year or Typhoon.

Yeah, not sure the chance to see '558 displaying somewhere over Filey will be enough to get me there, the BBMF is 'just' a flypast and the Tuc display - whilst very well flown - is a Tuc. Hmmm...
