No sign of the Lanc, just the Spit and Hurri pair displaying at the moment.

Crowd put at 100,000 today which is a good sign for the airshow scene and they also took time to pay respects to those killed last weekend at Shoreham.

That is a very good crowd.

Was a good display today, even in some challenging conditions.

I would say that the best display of the day was by Sally B.

Brilliant display from the Vulcan some say Martin Withers cant fly it well he certainly put on a brilliant display as did the Typhoon Chinook and Sally B amazing to think how Clacton has gone from the brink of going bust to bringing in some fantastic displays and international participation :win:

I wanted to go but the £60 train fare put an end to that. Sadly being a week day and given my distance from the display I would need to travel at peak time to have any chance of getting there :( Ah well, roll on Dunsfold I guess!

I think Clacton have done brilliantly to build this air show to what it is today. A host of well flown displays without excessive gaps between them, plenty to do on the ground, something to interest pretty much everyone in the air and some real star quality items on the show as well.

The sea front seemed extremely busy, but I had no trouble finding somewhere to park, or in getting away after the end of the show.

Well done Clacton!

A tip for anybody visiting tomorrow and wanting some good food at a very reasonable price - pop across the road behind the Vulcan stand and visit the bowls club, they were offering drinks (mug of tea £1.20), cakes, burgers (£2.40 from memory) and other items and also various bits and pieces of bric a brac, seating inside and out - was a nice place for a bit of a break and no queue for the toilet either.
