Gutted!

Was hoping to spend Friday & Sunday at Warton.
I do believe the Swordfish is using Warton as well but not confrimed and no idea of timings.

Don't the RN use Woodvale? Over the years it's usually the place I see all the naval assets.

Anyone want to have a guess what the 'big announcement' is tomorrow?

Lancaster back in flying condition yet?

What's the ticketing score for Southport? Never been (it's 250 miles away) but I'm tempted after last weekend's tech problems by at least one star :)

Tickets on the day? What if sold out? Does that happen?

I would be very surprised to see them sell out to be honest, all I will say if your coming to Southport then plan to arrive early as when the queue's start it can a while to get in.

Where abouts on the internet does it say there is a "Big Announcement" tommorow ? It hasn't
been posted on the official Southport Airshow Website !? David P I would leave really early
to get to Southport for 9am or thereabouts, as Traffic coming into Southport on Airshow days,
is notoriously Chocker !!

Thanks, all! If I come I suspect it'll be my usual "beast of burden" mode (big rucsac and tripod!) by train not by car...

I think the lanc is a good guess also however for some out there I wish guesses

an F-15 pair
or even the tornado pair

would be good to see

or maybe it will be lots of guest Spit's Hurri's and Blenheim's after yesterdays big event they might let the north have a tiny taste of the display

Can I ask why are people saying the Lancaster is going to be the surprise as, as far as I know it's not even flying again yet and not due to have a flight until after the show.

It definately won't be the BBMF Lancaster unfortunately. As I have just been on facebook, and someone asked the BBMF if it would be at Duxford this weekend and they said no.

This only makes the surprise all the more intriguing...

I hope its not something like "a new ice cream van will be on the beach"

Can't see the Vulcan going on Sunday. Family day at Doncaster on Sunday with hanger tours.

Agree with the other posts - there's been no news on the Lancaster so can't see that making such a journey even if repaired

Can't see there being anything from the RAF either - if Southport was earlier in the year there's always the chance of a flypast

That leaves something private. As mentioned above, the Vulcan is grounded Sunday for a pre-arranged hangar event - also given its funding position & the hope of a weekend tour in October I can't see where the cash would come from

As it's a paid event, I'd expect the organisers to be getting anything big out there quickly to boost sales but I still don't see any news....

Can't see it being Sally B as she's at Duxford all weekend.
All I can think of is something from the classic air force, maybe the Vixen and Vampire.
Or something doing a formation fly past with XH558.
All very intriguing!

Fantastic!
Will need a wider angle lens than usual to catch that. Cannot wait!

And do I win some kind of prize or something for guessing? Haha
