Penarth Sat. 11 July

Post by Brevet Cable »

Just been looking at the NOTAMs for Cardiff Airport , and noticed the following :

B) FROM: 15/07/11 10:30
C) TO: 15/07/11 11:15

E) RAF FALCONS PARACHUTE DISPLAY WI 3NM RADIUS 512534N 0031021W
(PENARTH)

And :
B) FROM: 15/07/11 11:15
C) TO: 15/07/11 18:45

E) AIR DISPLAY/AEROBATICS WI 2NM RADIUS 512602N 0031005W (PENARTH)

I then had a look on the VTTS website :
Where to see XH558 next :
This coming Saturday 11th July - RNAS Yeovilton, Wales National Airshow Swansea or Flypast at Penarth.

They kinda snuck that one in , didn't they !!

Did a search & found the following :
http://www.penarthtimes.co.uk/news/13367238.Mini_Air_show_set_to_take_off_at_Carnival_Day/
The day will start with the RAF Falcons Parachute team whose aircraft should be in the sky above the clifftop from 11.30am and they will look to jump from 11:40am to 11.45am from a height between 9,00ft and 12,000ft.

At 12.15pm the Vulcan XH558 bomber will return to the area with her notoriously loud engines but for the last time as this is her 'farewell flight'.

An RAF Tutor Display will take place at 2pm.

At 3.00pm is the SAR Sea-King with Penarth RNLI.

At 5.00pm is the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight with two Spitfires display for you at the Esplanade.

There will be Civilian Aircraft on show at 6.30pm including the WW2 Mustang.

The Global Stars are a team of acrobatic pilots. The aircraft are equipped with smoke trails that track the twists and turns vividly for the spectators.
As a team of British Champions you can expect some seriously good aerobatic manoeuvres during their display. At

Steve Carver is one of the Global Stars Team and will put on a solo display.

This is my local, as in pretty much literally just down the road. Great to have the Vulcan here and looking forward to the Tutor. Last year it was pretty darn close and makes you realise what a fantastic aircraft it actually is

Does the Vulcan flypast the cliffs/pier or over the field? Any timing updates?
