Bronco reported light cloud/mist at 200-300ft and sent back to base. Looked clearer as he went through though so maybe improving slowly.

Clacton Airshow ‏@ClactonAirShow ·

Due to the low cloud there is disruption to the display schedule. Fingers crossed it clears soon!

Twitter Duo just gave two passes to assess the weather and returning to base, due to the visibility.

XA41 reports few clouds 500-600ft over the boats. Sent back to base as lost visual contact as passed over the site from the beach.

Think it's just Vampire pair, BBMF and Reds left.

Can't remember what the limits are for the Red's, with any luck the cooler evening air will help disperse any sea mist, feel sorry for any one who has travel a distance to go.

BBMF Spitfires (including the new Silver Spit  ) done four passes and back to Southend. Reporting some cloud still around 300ft and viz poor and going to get worse. Just the Reds left but don't have much hope.

Only Chelmsford Nick, so not too bad. Will give it another go tomorrow.

Not so much a damp squib, more a misty one!!

Disappointing that the weather has had such an effect on things :-(

As soon as the synchro pair couldn't see each other you knew that was it. Now to go home, eat and come back (hopefully)

Reds did the first half of display then rightly pulled out after first opposition pass as visibility got too poor. Valiant effort by the team!

Saw the Spitfires come low over Chelmsford station around 4pm and then saw the Reds low over Manningtree around 430pm in a 5 plus 4 formation. Out if interest, did the Reds come direct from Scampton as don't normally see them here on their way to Clacton.

NW offshore breeze should help visibility tomorrow- lots of sunshine sounds like a perfect day. Then showers Saturday.

The evening part saved the day - great to see, and hopefully it won't be the last time that there is a night element to the show in Clacton.

There was certainly an appetite for it - with a sizeable crowd hanging around for it.

However, if the rumour that they could held the show for a couple of hours, to allow stuff to display later (once the mist had cleared), only to turn it down, then they certainly missed a trick :-(
