Wales National Airshow 2016

Post by Brevet Cable »

From being a bi-annual airshow ( on odd years ) , it now looks like it's becoming an annual event :
http://www.carmarthenjournal.co.uk/Wales-National-Airshow-return-2016/story-28539533-detail/story.html
The Wales National Air Show is returning to south west Wales in 2016, it has been confirmed.
The event, this year taking place on July 2 and 3 over Swansea, will be the first time it has returned in consecutive years.

well it looks like they are about to get another one now, in the shape of B-17 Sally B!
Is this the point that one does a 'RIAT.......phht'?

It looking like it's going to be a busy weekend for the old girl, what with Yeovilton and Shuttleworth displays booked too?

Hope it happens.....think the last time a B-17 displayed down this way was back in the days of the 'RAF At Home' day at St Athan.

My usual thing is to look at what's booked for Yeovilton , as the WNA will usually piggy-back off that for a number of it's display items.
( Now all they need is to get the MiG-15 & Corsair  )

Still hoping for the Corsair.....although at a push the Sea Vixen will suffice.

If I remember rightly someone did live video streaming last year , or was it just the webcam footage from the seafront cameras ?

I was there and seem to remember it was webcam. I walked the entire length of the show site and certainly didn't see anyone filming (other than private individuals of course)

Maybe PlanesTV will add it to their list of shows they cover ?
Just hope this year's airshow has better weather than last year.

They did post the times for the RAFAT on the website , but the rest of the schedules are supposedly only available on their app ( which you have to pay for )
I say supposedly because if previous years are anything to go by , at least one person usually posts the schedule on the facebook page.

Ok great, thanks. I'm probably not going to head down there as I plan on going to Yeovilton tomorrow but was hoping to catch the Typhoons at Cardiff airport on Sunday and I'm not intending to buy the app just for that!
