You mean like we did at RAF Cosford the other weekend...?

Hi Peter,

Yep just like that, I had mentioned it on another forum back in early June, but since seeing the live stream of Cosford show I think providing the weather play's ball in September that it could bring something unseen to the show.

Don't expect to see it flying before late 2018 / early 2019. I am reliably informed it's slow but steady progress.

Thanks for the info, whenever they had displayed at Southport they mentioned that they where hoping at the time to be able to display one.

Am I overthinking this, or is it looking a bit "thin" this year..three days or not?

At the moment it does look a bit thin display wise, but looking at other shows which Tsa organise chances are, they'll *hopefully release more display acts closer to the time.

*as with last year & the year before, most isn't added till late August/early September.

Thanks for that; I don't want to sound like a naysayer or doommonger, just thought it wasn't very substantial compared to when i last went!

Strange. The Bray Airshow is on this weekend in Ireland and they have Swedish Historical Flight Viggen and Spanish F-18 displaying.
For a small airshow that is amazing so why does Southport hardly ever have any foreign displays especially as Reds are not displaying this year.
Maybe its costs but perhaps the organisers need to spread their wings.

If you count non U.K. Based participants you can add the B-25 Mitchell, A-26 Invader and Team Reva ever since I have been going since '04.

There are 12 airshows in Europe that weekend even if they had asked would probably have got a negative response but at least it would be nice for them to broaden their horizons. What about the Blue Angels. They would love a weekend in Blackpool.lol

Don't forget the Bronco was booked for last year. Although it failed to turn up due to bad weather that's no fault of Southport, so they are try to bring in international acts.

Also confirmed is the NWMAS Strikemaster (Sat/Sun), the Turbulent is something Southport definitely hasn't had before

Its from ARCO, so it'll be a Buchon.

Being very picky....

OFMC don't have a Buchon, it's from the Aircraft Restoration Company...

Not meaning to be picky chaps, I love my warbirds so this is shaping up nicely for me.

I was merely curious whether it'd be a Buchon which I've seen before, or an actual ME-109 which I've yet to see.

Gutted we don't have the Matadors coming but have a feeling it was Paul Bonhomme and Steve Jones who flew the Buchon and Spitfire duo at an event earlier in the year so could well be them.
