Still early days. A few of the UK military schedules have been released. Unfortunately the typhoon will not be at Clacton this year on either day. The reds have yet to release their schedule. Clacton is the only display for the tutor in August. I'm sure we will know more soon.

Too early for the August free beach airshows to announce participants at the moment.

Im just pleased that it is going ahead and although upset the Typhoon ( my secret heart throb ) is not displaying I am very grateful for Clacton for including the Typhoon for the last couple of years and they never displayed week days.

What I dont understand is that the Reds are at Biggin and other arishows so they have already announce their schedule, or are we just waiting for comfimation.

Many thanks once again

Enjoy a very warm day.

I think it's just a case of waiting. I am fairly sure the organisers have had their contracts from the RAF events team and hopefully the Clacton team will let us know in the coming weeks of what they have been allocated.

The difference is that Biggin Hill and most other land events have to sell tickets. The reds are a big crowd- puller for the general public so that's probably why.

Hope this is the right place to post.

I want to take my kids to their and my very first airshow. For medical reasons one of the kids cannot be in crowds. Would anyone know if there is a place to get a decent view of the show but further down the coast line which is reasonably quiet? Looking at google maps, would the promenade at junction of St albans road be full of spectators? Do the planes fly that far down the coast line.

Forgive me if these questions are laughable - it is our first time.

Also, how is traffic overall coming into the area. We have a relative that lives close to the seafront but is it an issue getting into the area?

Thanks

The display area is between the Pier and the Martello Tower. It will be very crowded on Marine Parade between these points with most of the crowd on the Promenade or Beach. At rhe junction of St Albans road you will be away from the main crowds and you may see some larger and faster aircraft arrive and depart. Not sure you'll see much of the lighter aircraft displays.

The traffic can get very sticky as there is pretty much one way in and one way out!

I arrive and park at Clacton airfield and exit via West Road-Jaywick Lane and then the B1027 to get back to Colchester, this route does involve heavy traffic but it is generally moving if slowly,I don't know what the A133 route out is like but it is a very popular show so traffic is unavoidable unless you stay late. The Trains are also very full.
