Now that is taking the P! I decided to put up with the shabby online streaming (though my labtop may be partly to blame for that), rather than wait for the highlights. From what i did manage to see of it, it looked like a good race. Well done Lewis for finally getting a win in, and one he thoroughly deserved at that. Shame me to say it but a good job by Grosjean too. Plus Perez is worthy of mention too. Button however...

Massive thumbs down for tonight's coverage, actually shouted at the television to stop broadcasting the dull, lifeless, boring cricket commentator commentating on an equally drab cricket game and get what was supposed to be on as scheduled - the F1. Twitter went crazy I must admit.

As for the race itself, well done to Hamilton, Canada really is his own thing. Have to feel for Schumi though, it can't be good when about 7 large Anglo-German blokes are pressing down on your DRS on the wing and still can't unjam it.

I am a contributing editor on the site, and who was working at the time of the race being on. Only saw the highlights on BBC, and I do not have Sky.

Well did all of silverstone this year arrived on thursday night to a very muddy silverstone woodlands campsite, then the first surprise of the long weekend two C-130s did a very low flypast over the track before breaking and coming over the campsites, then rejoining for a second pass which was even lower and right over my head. Friday was damp and cold and then later on the wind joined in but there was lots of spins making it very exciting. Saturday didnt start off too bad, FP3 was dry and even the vulcan made an appearance. Then the heavens opened in quali, it was raining so hard I went in search of brolly which ended up costing £35. So race day we perched are selves at the Stowe General Admission area as it was on hard standing and the sun shone for most of the day quite a bit of action at stowe as well, being right next to a large screen really helps to keep up with the action, the crowd when webber took alonso went wild air horns left, right and centre. At the end of the race Hamilton and Button did the cool down lap in formation before Hamiltion broke off at Stowe to do some donuts. Went down to the track after the race where it was sweltering down there, got to see damon hill and jonny herbert with the sky team and DC and EJ with the BBC team. After that we headed off to luffield for the BBC forum and then it started raining again, Button throwing his hat and coat into the crowd went down very well. The best of the support races had to be the historic formula one, really was excellent to see them. Sorry about the long post but this is a very short summary (as we were doing nearly 18 hour days all the time we were there) of what was an unforgettable weekend.

Webber's signed for 2013 again I see, I really think he stands a very high chance of winning the championship this year.

Anybody on this site watch F1 any more? Very good race today at Hockenheim. (if any one was watching) Although an emasculated by Tilke its still a great GP to attend, the camp sites in the woods are crazy!!!!

I do not think that you can call Seppi a cheat. This racing incident happened and this is the result. Now this is the end of it.

There's no need for the comment about Button either. Seb went off the track - his choice. He took the position illegally and didn't give it back. Nothing to do with Button "getting his bone".

Do not take offence, what I ment is that it makes no/very little differance to the championship.(at the moment) So in that respect it was like giving a barking dog a bone, if only to shut it up. I am not a Mclaren fan.

We got Sky F1 free for the weekend, there coverage is very good if a little long at nearly 5 hours!!! But we didn't get the HD option which was a shame. Still not covinced enough to shell out even more money for F1 when we don't watch football etc..

I was glad to see Vettel given the penalty for a blatant illegal overtake... Red Bull are pushing their luck too far lately i think, it will be interesting to see what comes of this ECU situation

Great to see Jenson on the podium again just a shame he couldn't quite catch Alonso in the end

Do tell me if I'm being thick, but in previous races when a driver has performed an illegal overtaking manoeuvre the FIA have been able to make an immediate decision based on the live footage and passed instructions via the team radio that he has to give the place back. I know it was near the end of the race but surely there would have been time to do this?

Seppi should have waited for a different time to over take Button and incur no penalty, as Button's tyers were going off quickly. A so this racing!!!
