I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that we'll get the Sky F1 channel this year as we subscribe to Sky+ HD. Result.

I think they'll be showing old school races, documentaries etc on the F1 channel too.

I already have Sky sports 1 , upgrading to give me Sky sports 1 and 2 for £6 would give me access to the F1 channel plus I believe Sky sports 3 and 4 ! the only downside is I will not get it in HD, still Ive been watching F1 for around 30 years now without it being in HD so to me thats no problem  Also getting Sky Sports 2 will give me the chance to watch my footie team play live as they arnt good enough to appear on Sky Sports 1 yet !

Slightly off topic, we have a TV in our office at work, when the races are one the few of us who are interested in the Sport manage to watch it but get so much stick for watching cars going round in circles and asked questions like what do you actually see in this? etc etc (these are the same people who would be quite happy to watch the Easternders omnibus on a Sunday afternoon !!! :pinkwafer: ) Anyway since the rather well produced trailers for this years races have started appearing on the TV there attitude seems to have changed somewhat, there seems to be an interest rising in the ranks, I try and tell them its always been like that but they are convinced its Sky doing it better than everyone else !! hopefully good things will come from this!

I know gossip and rumours are rife in F1 but I heard something very interesting from a friend who has a friend who works for the Red Bull F1 team.

For the past two seasons, Mark Webber has had two engineers who worked on the setup of the front and rear wings. These guys are supposed to work together to get the setup of the wings working in harmony. Over the winter Red Bull brought in a sort of auditor to go through the data from the past two seasons to check the correlation of the data, who found that most of the changes the engineers had been making for the past two years had any positive effect on the car, for one reason or another. Needless to say when Webber returned to Milton Keynes after the winter break, he was not impressed and the engineers have been given new roles within the team and two new engineers have been appointed to look after wing setups.

Hopefully this will mean Webber is better able to challenge Vettel if Red Bull have the superior car again.

Marussia (Formally Virgin Racing) have finally unveiled their 2012 car.

Marussia has unveiled its new Formula 1 car - the MR01 - after it made its on-track debut at Silverstone on Monday.

The MR01 is the only other F1 car to not feature a platypus-style nose together with McLaren's challenger.

Interesting nose design which is similar to McLaren's, probably because of their technical partnership announced last year.

I don't think their techincal partnership has much to do with the design to be honest, Marussia (Virgin) use CFD solely to design their car where-as Mclaren make us of windtunnels too. I'd guess it's more of a coincidence than anything else, plus it doesn't really look like the Mclaren nose, which is well rounded and appears shorter. The MR01 looks very elongated and pointy.

However it's a much better looking design than the "platypus" nose IMO

Used. They dropped that policy when they parted company with Nick Wirth last year, and this car has been partly designed in a wind tunnel.
