Aston Martin Owners Club Racing - Donington 19th October

Post by steves4ssl »

Had a great (if cold and windy!) day at Donington Park today, watching the final rounds of the AMOC Racing season.

My first try at shooting motor sport since the late 80s!

I have to admit that the whole "angled" thing was a case of me trying a different style from the level shots that you often see.

Not sure whether I like it or not but it does seem to add something!

All shots were 1/100th sec with a Canon IS 70-200 IS L lens

Nice set Steve, it's only motorsport where you can get away with angles like that but it does add extra impact to the shot.

I did wonder whether you might be there yourself, considering the shots you often post from there

One of my pc's gave up the ghost last week so I was rebuilding that over the weekend. I was going to go to the Race of the Year at Mallory but the weather looked nothing like you had at Donny and the pc took longer than I hoped (as usual).

Next outing will be the Bike Show at the NEC to check the bodywork out

there are indeed some steep bits to Donny, ask anyone who has driven there especially the Craner Curves, all down hill, negative camber, and very thrilling. It's like a mini Spa
