Re: Canon EOS 5Dmk2 announced
Looks like I might finally get to relegate the 20D to a second body. Certainly ingrigued by the 16x9 1080HD video mode.
£2,299 in the UK (Warehouse Express) / $2,699 (US RRP, approx £1,500) for body only, with delivery in the US being scheduled for end of November.

Re: Canon EOS 5Dmk2 announced
As nice as the spec looks I still think they have made a mistake not upping the amount of selectable focus points, these days 9 is not enough. It seems they still want a line between the 1 series bodies and others.
Me, well I will wait and see what the MKIII replacement will be and hope the price is reasonable.

Looks pretty good to me but I am not sure 3.9fps is quite fast enough, my 400d can do 3fps.

Yes I was surprised it was not about 5fps to be honest but I suspect that puts it a bit too close to the 1D body ditto the focus points

Not really an issue for me - I am not a pro sports photographer, nor a machinegun shutter "press and pray" amateur either ....

Re: Canon EOS 5Dmk2 announced
I have lost count of how many times I have taken three quick shots with my 400d to find that they are good but a frame in between two of them would have been perfect! If the 5dmkII had been 5fps I would have been seeking financial approval from the wife now, the fps speed is enough to put some doubt in my mind though.
A note to anyone looking to get their hands on one, the cost will come down a fair bit if they avoid the rush to pre-order, the Nikon D700 came down by about £300 between the announcement a few months ago and today.
