They're not fake - Just optical illustions...
Re: These must be fakes surely!!
Yeah i thought that about the 2nd pic
But how close would you say they are in the 1st pic
I know its hard to judge with just one angle
What is the closest they are aloud to get to each other in a display

I've seen a few photos similar to that second one, so I'm sure it's genuine. The first one I don't know, but it's more than likely just an optical illusion as JJ380 says.
Re: These must be fakes surely!!
I'm sure Berry will confirm that they are indeed real as he is a member of the board Taken at Al Ain from memory?

Re: These must be fakes surely!!
Nothing fake-looking about those. They've just been taken with a long lens, which compress distances, giving the appearance that objects are closer than they are.

I think people need to be careful with postings like this and making any accusation without enough substantiated evidence to do so.

Not sure as to the official spacing requirements or guidelines, but I've got a sequence on good old film of how close they shouldn't get
Re: These must be fakes surely!!
Amazing that these have come up again. You are not the only one questioning these two pictures, quite a few others have done so previously. However, these photographs are real. American aviation newspaper Pacific Flyer even decided to run with the story:
Sorry about the 'Top Gun' bit in the story, these are not my words. The Russians liked it though!
Cheers, Chuck

Even the helis are doing it...
The Harriers can't get too close though- their egos would connect together... it's a bit like crossing the streams in Ghostbusters!
