Printing Problems!

Hi

I have a Canon Pixma IX6550 printer and up until recently it has been working perfectly but recently it has developed a problem that I can't get to the bottom off.

Basically when the printer begins to print it prints some slightly different coloured lines at the beginning of the print, then it seems to settle down and the remaining 90% of the print is fine. I've tried all the usual tricks to no avail, can anybody shed some light on where I can start looking to cure this fault?

Sounds like the belt drive ribbon sticking on start up of printing.

How often do you use it? If its standing around for a while with no activity this can be the cause I'm afraid. Are you getting tram lines too?

Thanks for your input, the printer was used a lot until about a month ago and yes you are right about the tramlines!

but

I've just tried printing through Photoshop Elements rather than Photoshop and the print has come out perfectly! I think it might be something to do with profiles but not going to worry if Elements works ok!

Ironically I've just tried to print a large text document using the same printer and all I get is nothing - just blank pages!

No worries. . .

i know what you mean though. If i print from one pc it prints out at 107% the size i want and on another perfect everytime. Have looked at every option it could be, no idea to this day.
